Good work Dave! keep those S.A meetings coming! I'll be there for sure! looking forward to formely introducing Jezebel to the S.A V.V fraturnity. I have been going to town on Ebay at the moment collecting bits and pieces as I realised on our first trip we were a little under prepared. Did a local pickup last night on a little microwave I won and also bought a couple of those flip down hotpoint toasters and dug out a old electric jug I had lying around. so I should be all systems go for this one. Just have to make sure I pack the Stones green ginger wine, there is nothing better to keep yourself warm and at 13% you stop feeling the cold after a while ;D Really looking forward to seeing everyone again Just 46 sleeps to go

Damn Damn Damn. I have a prior 'cant get out of' engagement. I was going to take the Globey now that 6 hrs hard work for nette and I resulted in having the front and rear fixed windows rerubbered!
With my portable reverse cycle air con we'd be as warm as toast too. Maybe next time.
next time.

Well the Bras monkey has been and gone and from what I heard while there we might make this a annual event . Credit has to go out to Colin and Lizzie for putting on a excellent show. As far as caravan parks go it was the ducks nuts being surgically clean and very new, having your own ensuite was something I thought was pretty cool and hadn't seen before. We were pretty lucky weather wise, Saturday was beautiful and sunny but the wind got very cold and as soon as the sun went away it was time to rug up. We had 2 bonfires to keep us warm and it was only when you walked away from the fire did you realise just how cold it was! Sunday was pretty good too but we did have a few short showers of rain. Here's the photos I took. I only just got Jezebel back together on Saturday morning, thanks has to go out to the wifey for her patience with getting the new hatch to secure properly. 73 Kenworth's rig! one beautiful Mustang and a van imported from Belguim No v8 here Olfarts newly aquired Wayfarer, will clean up really nice when done Don't know anything about this one Urkel's beautiful old EJ And his Sportline, I'll let him explain what happened to the window..... Pymie's van Larry's stunning Roadmaster And one V E R Y cool old bus, not only did it look cool but with a Holden 5litre for motivation it sounded the part as well! Another one of Colins toys, a mark 2 Ford Cortina convertabile. Again very cool and very unique! So there you have it, no doubt more people will load there photos for all to see. If memory serves me correctly we had 11 vans including the bus. Looking forward to Brass monkey 2010.

Sorry, I can't explain the busted window, so here's a picture (with the wrong year)!! Left Pinnaroo Fri morn, got to Tailem Bend (140km) for coffee and it was busted. Lucky it wasn't raining. Went to the hardware store and got plastic & gaffa tape for the weekend. Was able to have window replaced in Strathalbyn on way home y'day, so decided to stay there last night and got home mid arvo today. I have more pictures to post, but am currently caught between dial-up and broadband (should have been up & running today). Hopefully sorted in the next couple of days. Steve

Here's a few more shots: an overview of the Mt Compass Caravan Park. One of the neatest & cleanest parks I've been to. Thanks Colin & Lizzy for that. Some of the natural fauna!! And some of the un-natural fauna (mr olfart and mr andrew82) Was a great weekend. Steve

Cool photos steve! I see your still battling with dial up internet poor bugga! I can remember you telling me on Sunday morning that you should have broadband by the time you got home. I should explain the photo of Olfarts and I. No, were not a bunch of peace loving hippies both doing the peace signs with our hands and only one of us is a valiant lover so it's not "Hey Charger!" either. Can anybody guess what we could be on about? Also about a month ago I declared that I was going to grow a beard and Olfarts thought he would give me a run for my money and see if he could out grow me. He was sure that he had and unfortunately for me Pymie confirmed it on Saturday arvo he judged that his was infact a better beard . All good fun!

Hi South Aussies. Looks like the weekend away was a great success. Sounds like you had a good time... but then that is something we all knew would happen anyway. The cold... .. hey... the run didnt get the label "Brass Monkeys" fa nothing ya know. Yep .. make sure it becomes an annual event too. Now that we have turned the corner on winter i reckon you guys will have another get together organised in the next few months as well.. Its infectious aint it.... Love the cars and the vans .. they are a credit to all of you. Reddo

It was such a pleasure to see everyone in my park. Every van was different. Every van so kool. Thanks to Dave (OLD FARTS) for organising the get together. my Hubby locked me in the caravan, by accident. 4.30 everyone was still wandering around the park and i had no control. But they were so sick next day. Woo hoo. Everybody welcome next time.
