Painted the Sunliner chassis with POR15 today. Still up on mate's hoist - which was a major drama. He needs it back by Monday for work. One can did one coat. Do I need two coats? It's very $$$$ Any thoughts?

I only needed one coat for the chassis of my Sunliner. I did it on my back, no hoist for me!!!! Would have made it easier though. It's great stuff, but don't get it on your body or skin.......because it's so hard to remove.

Hi Dorian,
Yes it'a pricey, but damn good stuff. What size can did you get? The thing with it is that it goes a long way and you should avoid thick coats at all cost. As it cures, it gives off a gas of some sort, Co2 or 02? Can't remember what, but if the coat is too thick, that cause bubbles in the finish, hence the thinner coat x 2.
Personally I'd do two. You should have been able to do the whole chassis properly with a can. Better to do it properly now than potentially have problems later.
Cheers Chris

Thanks Humpty (pm'd me) and Chris,
Yes, Chris it's amazing how far the stuff goes. Almost like magic. I bought a small can however and will have to settle for one coat.
Thanks kindly for the reply.
