Hi All,
Another one over. Its getting harder to go home & back to work at the end of weekends away, with so many friends & new acquaintances we meet at each event.
Every event we have had has had a unique feel to it. I guess thats one of the things that bring us back.
The park management didnt really put any effort into keeping us as a group, & that was a disappointment, The park manager afterwards apologised, & gave as a Barbeque to use for our Saturday night. He also promised better if we came back, but so far we jhavent needed to repeat attend any one park.
The highlight for me was running into Paparazzi & Susan, who called in to take photos of my Rod & Lucille, & quite a few other vans .
We set up, & the older kids all headed for the poolsw & the surf, & the river. Didnt see much of them except for feed times all weekend. I think they had a good time.
The girls did their usual Saturday morning Garage Sale Attack, & a lot of good?? stuff was dragged back.
Weather was great ( as usual on the Gold Coast this time of year.
Roll on Canungra for our Christmas in November function.
The pix Paparazzi took were similar to this
Our camp site
Di & Home made 54
OB & Lyn
Pete , Trish & Pearl
Ben & Mindy & Ford Von turned up with their Kennedy. Towed it all the way from Melbourne after buying it there, & lost roof hatch on the Gateway Bridge near home. Bugger.
John & Lyn in their big Don
Dave ( Dosse) brought Mabel along (with Ilse of course to keep him in control)
Sutcac & Barb rushed home from their Northern holiday,
Neil & Cheryl brought their Rowvan
Tony & Terese Fulton brought this neat Olympic
As always David & Lyn brought their big bondy. Still travells well & heaps of room for garage sale wins
I met a guy ( cant remember if he is a Forum member or not) who was there with this beautiful van he bought from the original owner, who had it built to his custom order in1966. It is immaculate, & I've never seen a layout internally like it
Jondi ( john & Di) turned up with their flat black 11 second drag race/street 55 chev post tudor & teardrop.
Banno & Joey brought 2 vaqns & cars, along with the best griddle cakes anyone could eat. Thanks Joey for the effort
Phil & Lou dropped in for their first event, with their immaculate baby Franklin
Kel & family had their Bantam behind the Kombi, but I missed the Kombi
And to those I missed, Earlee, Lightning McQueen, & I'm sure others, I apologise.
Too many vans make me thirsty, then I forget what I'm doing..
Thats right, time for tucker
Its all fun,
JBJ. Boots & Izzy
