Hi all, I have joined this site as am interested in old caravans and also need some help with the caravan that I have recently obtained. It is supposed to be a Viscount caravan, three were imported from Aussie to Christchurch NZ by a guy who built and sold caravans, this was about 1967, I have managed to talk to the son of the original owner (he also owned it) here in Chch, he agreed with me that while similar in looks to Viscounts it is slightly different - one piece front and back windows, side windows slope back on sides. He travels around Aussie each year and came across a caravan in Melbourne that looks exactly the same as the Chch one he used to own, it had been put onto an off-road chassis and completlely restored, it was manufactured in Melbourne by a company but he cannot remember their name!! Can any one help me with any info, apparently he was still able to obtain window rubbers ect. I will try and get a photo next time I'm over working on it!!!! Kiwi 59

Thanks Gristy, the interior is very close to the one in #10 with the front and back windows similar to the van in #8, they were imported as kits and assembled here in Chch with 70% of the van having dimpled alloy, perhaps the front and rear windows were altered by the caravan maker here? The side windows have alloy frames that take a very fine profile rubber, around glass and on inside frame that closes against the van body any ideas?
