Hello All. I am restoring a 63 Sunliner which was in pretty good nick to start with but need a few items to finish the job.First I have no hatch at all to restore and dont know what they looked like and how the hinging and latching worked so I could fabricate it. also my curved windows and rubbers need replacing as the perspec has gone opaque and rubbers are hard as. The aluminium windows are short of most of the cylindrical opening struts or stays. As far as the perspec is concerned origonaly they looked curved both ways but guess to replace ,one can only fit straight sheet curved on the ends .Any suggestions or leads where I can procure these items would be of help. Regards T J

hi trevor,
I own a mould for the hatch , & Spyder has it in Sydney at last sighting.
Its not hard to get a fibreglasser to make one from the mould.
there are a lot of Sunliners out there to copy the mechanisms off.
It would help if you modified your profile to include the part of Australia you are from, so others would know if they are close enough to you to be able to offer help.
Both Spyder in Sydney & Impala in Melbourne have the contacts to reproduce perspex windows. Rubbers can be bought almost anywhere.

Thanks JBL, How do I go about getting a product out of your mould??? I have a friendly fibreglasser on the Gold Coast here, Or could I buy one from your fibreglass man. as far as the windows and rubbers go are the windows the same as origonal with the bulging shape to follow the body lines?? and are the rubbers the same bulky ones as per origonal or the general purpose { Clayenite rubber } that they use for sides of vans etc??How do I contact these people as I have not heard of them beforeI also would like to locate some origonal aluminium window stays or adjustable hold open RODS{ or make them?}. Thanks again for your help. Regards Trevor

Hi Trevor,
I'm only an hour away from you. I live near Ballina. I have a spare hatch, that your fibreglasser could make a copy from.Or you will have to wait until I can get the mould back from Sydney.I might be able to get it up to the Sunshine Coast run somehow.
I suggest you should look at coming to our next SE Qld run on the Sunshine Coast at the end of next month. There will be a few sunliners there, both early & late models like yours. You will be able to get plenty of photos & details to allow you to build your own hatch mechanism. We could discuss windows & rubbers there, as everyone does things differently.
To find any forum member, go to the members list & click on "Send personal message". You have to be logged into the site to do that.
Why not go back thru members photo albums & look at the large volume of details on sunliners there, as well as on other parts of the site?
