Done. Brian and Loretta have been added.
As everyone may have noticed I have been going back and modifying the list I posted last week rather than list it again which means your number yesterday may not be your number today BUT I will have the site numbers on Tuesday and after that they are set. Rod G.

Clyde As we are representing the Vintage caravan movement I suggest we may have to use appropriate tennis racquets so I will bring along some 60's wooden racquets. Great idea and I have a few extra normal racquets as well.
Nicole and Troy. I'll put you down for Saturday night. Numbers are getting up but I should confirm everything is OK on Tuesday. 12 sleeps to go- I had better get cracking as the Hunter needs springs and brake hoses and the van needs the new axle, hubs and wheels. Plus Dossie we have the Rootes Group Roundup next Sunday. I'll probably bring the Hunter but the Sunbeam race car may like a run as well.Anyone who likes the Rootes Group cars - next Sunday at Dreveson Park- darling Point on the esplanade between Manly and Wynnum. Rod G. ps Did any of our group have their old van in getting windows done at Lawnton last week?

thanks for that Rod, Ill definately have an arrival date for my bondy by tuesday too. cant wait to see all the beautiful vans - I tried catching them out at noosa a couple of weeks back, but most were driving out the gate as I arrived after 10am (didnt realise van parks have a check out time of 10am now, (we mostly stay in outback and bush van parks and dawdle off home some time in the avo, so as to get more time to relax and have a spot of lunch b4 we face the drive home ) looking 4ward to meeting u all nicole

Hi all, Bad news, maybe. I was just fitted last week with a bionic knee replacement (clutch knee) and can't drive for 6 weeks I'm told so we will be looking around for a driver who can tow the buble up there to for us. If that fails we'll have to back out of the weekend I'm afraid. Here's hopeing for a good Samariton. All the best if we don't see yoosall. Paul & Yoko

Paul & Yoko. I hope one of our group can help. What suburb are you coming from ? I had a meeting with the manager of the park today and all is good. I have the available site numbers and will be working on that tonight as there a few things to take into account with regard to some low vehicles etc. I'll get back on here later tonight but I need some comments quickly. The manager has a friend who plays guitar, some country and western and general and reckons he is pretty good. He has offered to have him there for saturday night around the barbeque etc. Cost is a couple of dollars each thrown into a hat and the park manager will pick up the rest of the tab to have him there. A few open and honest comments either on here or a pm to me will help me make a decision. In some ways people may want to just talk and relax or a bit of music in the background with such numbers we will have there may be some good entertainment to highlight the weekend. I just need comments asap. Anyone who can help Phargan let him know as the Hunter Minor is a great little van to have around. Rod G.

Hi Rod,
Paul's a little bit away from Mooloolaba.
He lives near Kyogle in Northern NSW, about 50 or so Km's from me. I wish I could help, but I cant drive 2 cars at the same time very well.
Boots isnt confident enough to tow the Sunliner on her own behind the Dodge either, so I really cant see how we can help Paul & Yoko, unfortunately.

SITE NUMBERS NOW ALLOCATED - see next posting for list. Please refer to page 2 of this thread to see where you are sited. *Note:- I have allocated the sites based on keeping the types of vans together according to the number of sites available together. ie 4 teardrops matched the 4 sites available in that location. I have also addressed several requests for people to be together + after visiting there today placed some vans according to their size & tow vehicles as several sites were elevated so no god for the Hotrod. & site 83 is larger thus suiting the larger bondwood there. I hope everyone is satisfied with this. I also have several sites for Phargan if Paul & Yoko can get a driver plus one other site. Those meeting at Etamogah Pub at 10am on Friday will receive their site sheet & directions then. Others on arrival. Reccomended entrance route will also be posted as it saves lining up to turn right into the park. On arrival after 12md I'll have the gate open so everyone can drive in without wait and once your van is in you can pay at the office for site fees + gate & ammenity key deposits. I will try and get checkout extended to 12md on Sunday but no promises. Dinner on Friday night at Surf Club- you just need a card from a reciprical club or your drivers license to show you are from out of town. Well priced meals plus a $13.95 buffett breakfast in the mornings just 450metres from the park gate. Any problems or queries post it here, pm me or phone 0417 620877. Rod G.

Thanks JBJ for thinking of us, I may have a mate who can tow the Hunter minor up there with his car and spend the weekend with us all. He's stopping off here this afternoon for a cuppa and then I'll get back to the gang with more info. If he can't, there will be an 11th SE Qld. getitogether I expect in the winter and by then I shall have my new tow car ready for a jaunt up the coast!? I got hold of a 1970 Austin 1800 Mk 11 which need a deal of work, half of which I have done before the knee replacement. ;D Cheers for now, Paul & Yoko

UPDATE
Caravan park has confirmed a late check out for Sunday morning which means at least midday or 1pm. This may be handy as the Caravan parks Association have asked me to do a radio interview with 4BC on Saturday lunchtime which may get a few extra people to look at the vans sunday morning. They are also advising some other media.
All we need now is some fine weather and all is good. My axle has been fitted with 5mm clearance between the tyres and guard so I had better not run over a fat cochroach and get him caught in the tread.

The largest gathering of VV in QLD A lot of new faces to add to our friendly group A great array of vans and cars to admire Now a 50th birthday to celebrate Whooooo Hoooo This will be good.
Caravaning Queensland is now right behind this event and some representatives from there will be attending including possibly Neil Chesney of Chesney Caravan fame. They have engaged a public relations company to get some good publicity out there which should ensure a number of visitors on Saturday and then Sunday morning. On a serious note this means we need to be a little more vigilant on security in leaving things around the vans. I am still going up thursday afternoon but if my teardrop doesn't sell on ebay I'll drive back early Friday morning, grab the Hillman and teardrop and get back to Etamogah and the teardrop can be on display for the weekend as well BUT I do hope it sells first. If you have another van or classic car you want to sell bring a photo and a story and I'll make up a board to display them. I am also arranging some charity tins to put around the vans as with some visitors we may get a few donations that I want to make to Wildlife Victoria to help with the animals injured in the bushfires. Caravaning is an iconic part of Australia's heritage and so are the native animals so hopefully we can raise a few $$$ over the weekend. I'll tee up Etamogah for a number of vans (12 to 20 at this stage) with meeting there now from 9.30am to 11.30am in the front bar. The first few vans will be able to park in front as per last year and others just along a bit. I'll have a look at the numbers of vans and work out sending 6 or so at a time on the road .
If you are new to the group definately try and get to the Etamogah as you will immediately feel part of the group as you drive in convoy to the park.
Remember we need a few barbeques for Saturday night.
The countdown has begun !
Rod G.
