That's a great collection of vehicles, Kaybee.
Just makes you wonder why GMH didn't go into production with the FJ wagon.
Thanks for the pics.

Hi Col I appreciate cars that have that amount of restoration work done on the bodies but grey motors just dont do it for me I know Im in the S%#t now but when I connected my EK to the Baravan put it in gear and the Baravan dragged me to the bottom of the hill I knew Holdens were not for me see this photo here we said that Mark was just having a sleep NOT TRUE!!!!! I let him connect the mighty grey fx to the Airstream and it did the same thing when he was checking the lights it rolled back down the hill right over the top of him ;D they are an awseome collection and a collectors dream but give me the Willys and the the white coupe and the ford ute and the chevy anyday Heres where we are with the 36 project this coat has been sanded back doors which go on tommorrow there is pinstriping going on the rear panel above the boot and some other surprises slowly coming together from when it looks like sardine can on a spit a stainless firewall and tool box which is designed to sit under the bonnet with no side panels is a nice touch gas tank ready for fitting headlights dropped 3 inches things are well on the way to having it finished by february upholstery is made electrics ready to rock wheels are in the shed just a matter of time now YES!!!!!!!!!!! Glad to see there are those out there that have the money to spend saving our motoring heritage
Just goes to show how a car or van can be brought back from the brink if it is rare enough or the person is determined enough
Thanks for the photos
Cheers Atog

Hi Jennison, There's a bit more information about Stan Cordell's work in DHL: vintagecaravans.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=chat&action=display&thread=2056Strangely enough I added to the thread just yesterday, and when I put up my post found Kaybee's post on the FJ wagon. Great minds think alike... (Well, we might as well make the claim to be great minds Kaybee ;D ;D ;D) Cordell was obviously a creative chap - not unlike a certain John Jennison, perhaps? Hope we do get to see some of Stan's material as Kaybee has suggested. It would be fascinating. Don Ricardo

Those photos of the Cordell Station Wagon are incredible, I 'd hate to think how much it cost to do that transformation..... but what's money got to do with passion Here is a photo of the only FJ Station Wagon GMH built. (Courtesy of Don Loffler's book “The FJ Holden” ) Even though it apparently was constructed from a panel van welded onto a sedan body I personally don't think it looks too bad, but GMH was having trouble producing enough sedans utes and panel vans to satisfy the market ... so the “Station Wagon” was shelved. So if the one above was the only one made by gmh who made the one that is now restored? And what what a restoration it is I can't imagine how many hours have been spent on it. How long did it take you ? any idea how long it was made? any other info on the wagon before you purchased it, like who had it where it was found was it kept in a shed or out in the open ? the dent in the roof looks like a tree has fallen on it to me. For me the one made by gmh doesn't look right, I think it needs to taper off slightly at the rear like the one that has been restored. You should be very proud of your work, I doubt it looked that good when it was new!

LOVE IT ! I WAS TALKING TO A MATE LAST FRIDAY WHO IS IN THE INNER CIRCLE OF "THE FJ FRATERNITY" AND WE WERE DISCUSSING THE GREEN & IVORY STATION WAGON AND ITS RECENT REINCARNATION . THE STORY GOES THAT THE OWNER PAID TO HAVE THE WHOLE VEHICLE RESTORED FOR HIM WITH NOTHING BUT THE BEST OF EVERYTHING , COST ............... $ 180 ,000 , THE WRECK ALONE WAS $30 ,000 . BUT HEY WHAT A WORK OF ART ! I WOULD DO EXACTLY THE SAME IF I COULD AFFORD IT ! REGARDS , MAURIE . P.S DONT THOSE PANELVAN'S LOOK VANTASTIC , ESPECIALLY THAT CREAM ONE , I WANT IT ! WHERES TRODLER , I BET HE HAS GONE ALL GAR - GAR LIKE ME .

Hi Col. I find that hilarious..... What state titles where they .... surely not the FX /FJ titles. The boffins that run those events would be smart enough to know what they where looking at Reddo

Goes to show what can be done with the right gear and attention to detail. Phil is perfectionist and it shows in the work that his team do.
He has a very well respected business in the panel shop as well as the resto shop.
