Hello vintage vanners, It's been a while since I posted anything I've been very busy with everything else except vintage caravans unfortunately. Hopefully I'll be able to participate in the hobby more again very soon. I thought some of you maybe interested in knowing about the Cootamundra Wattle Rally. It is on 15th and 16th August 2009. The Cootamundra Antique Car Club are still making decisions on actual events planned but over the past few years it has incorporated a navigation run or sightseeing run, BBQ lunch and dinner with entertainment on the Sat evening. I have attended the last few and always found it enjoyable. It is only on every two years as well. There are all types of veteran and classic cars which participate and your car does not have to be concours to participate. The good news is there is a caravan park in Cootamundra NSW as well! So maybe a good opportunity to bring the vintage vans along for the weekend. I have a brochure here but unfortunately I cannot get our new "all singing all dancing" printer to scan it For more info please contact Paul Ballard via email westkinloch@dragnet.com.au Cheers Greg

G'day Greg, It's not a bad run out to Cootamundra eh?.... you went there last year didn't you? I went to what I think was the inaugural rally back in 1991 and vaguely remember going out to Mike Willesee's horse stud as one of the excursions they had planed for us, it was a good trip and I should do it again...... this time with a caravan in tow . Have you booked in for Motorfest 2009 Greg ? Cobber.

G'day Cobber,
Cootamundra is a good drive fairly flat except the bit over the Blue Mountains if you're travelling west from Sydney but, it is a good easy drive.
I did go last year but, we had some car trouble with my Volksy (turned out to be an out of adjustment tappet) which made the trip a bit of a nightmare however, we still managed to enjoy ourselves. There will be no repeatition of car trouble on the next journey to Cootamundra ;D
I'm unable to attend the Motorfest next January as I am working Australia Day. Maybe 2010 I'll be able to make it again.
Cheers
Greg
