Hey all,
the Clipper van that has been on Epay for the last week is heading over to Victoria to live with Myrtle and the menagerie of Vauxhalls.
At last we will be able to do the things we have not been able to do in the Teardrop, like STAND UP ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I will post some pics when we get her home but in the meantime go to the Ebay links site and look under "Ebays latest"
Does anyone have information on South Australian Clipper vans. Any help would be gratefully received.
Cheers, Leigh & Karon

Hi Leigh and Karon, Great to hear that Hilda is travelling East. You've got a great little van there and we look forward to hearing more about her as the three of you get better acquainted. As the sage once said - "Get a Clipper, it's a ripper". ;D ;D ;D Sorry that was pathetic!! There is some info available on South Australian Clipper caravans in the Down History Lane section, including pics of Hilda as it happens. We don't let any grass grow under our feet on the V V forum. : vintagecaravans.proboards30.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=chat&thread=2374&page=1Don Ricardo

Thanks DR,
I memorised all the information in the DHL section before I bid on her, I was hoping someone out there may have had something else to offer.
I would dearly love to buy the 1956 Clipper brochure that has been copied to DHL.
I assume the clipper I have may be the only known survivor as all the information in DHL is from printed media with no actual photos of any others.
cheers, Leigh.

Hey Leigh, Last I heard you thought you had been out bid on this Clipper, what did you do, raid the piggy bank ? If it is the only surviving example of the breed you have a real gem.... and a heavy responsibility Cobber.

Hi Cobber,
yes, I was outbid at the time but it still had a few days to go.
As I said I rethought how much I would spend, I begged to the financial department (wife) and given how rare I think it is and its condition I put in a really silly bid.
I am happy with the final price but then I have not seen it in the flesh yet.
Pity I won't have it home before Cora Lynn next week.
I will endeavour to give it the restoration/refurbishment it deserves, without detroying its originality if possible.
cheers for now, Leigh.
