hi rhowna,
I'm finding lots of different plywoods are out there, dependent on where you want to buy from.
you havent shown your locality in your ID sign on, so I'm guessing that your probably going to be near a large hardware outlet. you will need to use external quality ply externally.
I live in the bush to a point, like the nearby big towns have a smaller Bunnings in each. Also one of the towns actually has a plywood dealer, who can get various types of ply generally.
I find if I go to the specialised guy I can get a fairly fine grained surface in a flat sheet, but I've got to pay a premium price for the really nice stuff, & pay delivery the 20km to my place.
But I've used the slightly coarser surfaces before, & if you're prepared to put bit of sanding into the undercoats, they end up pretty well looking the same.
Similarly if you need the ply to bend, you need to look around, depending on radius neede & sizes of sheets.
Obviously if you are in more populated areas than I am there will be more choices. but look around as there is an enormous range out there i believe

The best plywood to use is an "A" or better still "AA'grade marine ply. An "AA" has two good faces with no holes or glue lines in the middle layers. You could use "B" or lower grades but the finishes have knots, gum lines etc. The other option is masonite but this is heavier and will not last as long. Cheers retro1
