Nice work, Reddo. Good as new...maybe even better'n new.
It would be interesting to know the different ways that caravan builders solved the problem of 'how to open and close the flue'. Probably just about as many ways as there are caravan flues I'm thinking.
The flue on our van (the one I ripped the hat off on the elm in the drive ) has an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve, both with holes in the side covered with fly wire (the old brass type). To open the flue you reach up the flue and twist a handle on the inner sleeve to align the holes on the inner and outer sleeves. Works quite Ok, but I reckon yours would probably give better ventilation over all. Particularly when the whole mechanism goes west.
