Hi,
I am contemplating how far to go with my new van.
Do I do a full restoration and try to get it as good as new? Do I do the bare essentials to get it usable? Do I procrastinate and end up selling it to someone else?
A bit of research will help me decide.
Question 1 is can I get new metal strips to run around the van's external corners? The ones that I have may come up all right but in case they don't I want to be prepared for replacing them.

Hi Wayne. The metal strips you are talking about are more than likely an aluminium J mold section. It is readily availably from any good aluminium supplyer and usually comes in 4m lengths, but if you get real desperate Bunnings stock it in 2m lengths.Hope this helps.
Cheers. Trodler.

Is there a secret to making it fit the curves of my van? I am assuming that a right angle extrusion won't happily bend around a curve.
Wayne.

Start with fixing the first one or two screws/pop rivets on you strip. And gently form using a rubber mallet. Don`t forget- hit the strip, not the panels or your fingers. cheers
