Hi everyone. My first post!!! I have been introduced to this site by "Minicamper" thanks Chris. I have a couple of cars in the shed, all Austins. Several different models from A40 to A90 to Healey 100. The one which I will look about for a matching van is my 1950 A90 Atlantic Hard Top (Pic to follow) It has a 2.6 ltr motor, twin SU carbs, top speed of 100mph, happy at 65mph on the open road with plenty left for hills and overtaking. The car has been the subject of a 7 year resto, nearly done. The trim is servicable, mechanics are good, runs well, just lots a rust!!!! In between I have had other cars and a tear drop caravan, which I sold about 18months ago. Anyway, thats me done. Happy to share any extra info on the car. Adam

Hi adam,
The atlantic hardtop was a very British car, that was so unique in its day. Unluckily, not that many survived. But congrats on having one.
Better post some pix soon cause most of the Forum members wont have a clue about the car your talking about.

Hi a90atlantic and welcome to the forum. Atlantics are up there as one of my all time fav cars. Austins of course, as i started my career repairing them (panel beater), and building Austin & Morris buses. My all time fav car ? 1947/8 Oldsmobile. I`ve had probably 40/50 cars etc but the Olds is always number one for me.

Hi Adam Welcome to the forum. I was in the Austin Club of Qld many years back (Austin A40 GSII Devon sedan) and a member had 5 of the A90 Atlantics. Two were on the road & 3 were for parts, wouldn't sell any though. A unique vehicle - look forward to the pics. Neil

Hi everyone, I caught up with Adam yesterday. We swapped "drives" ;D Adam has a crash course on how to drive a Model T and I got to take the Atlantic convertible out. ;D ;D Adam has his photobucket instructions now and I'm sure pics will be up here after he finishes work today. For now, here's a teaser. I'll let Ad's put the rest up. Cheers Chris

Hi there Here is the A90 Hard Top that I am restoring. It has had all of the rust cut out, I have replaced the sills and a fair bit of the lower parts of the main body and boot area. The car is otherwise in very good condition. It will be painted as close to its original cream as possible, with a dark brown vinal roof (yes that was original too!) It had a black roof when I got it and was painted white. Most of the chrome has been re done and I have cleaned up the wiring loom and gone over all of the mechanical side, it runs very well. As for the Convertible, well thats it above! Five years to restore and heaps of fun to drive!

Well, without too much tempting (he's dabbled before) I've led Adam down the VV garden path. We just have to source Adam the right van both size and weight wise. (I was surprised just how much "guts" this model has compared to all my cars). Unfortunately he has a soft spot for Don's so there might just be a fight, hair pulling and all if we come across one.. ;D

MMMM a small Don would be nice! The twin berth 10 footer (model 100) would be perfect. I'll start looking!!!! It states in the old advertising brochure that it is suitable for a 10hp car. The A90 is 18hp so that work out just nice.
