Last week I caught up with the Heard family who are recreating their grandfather's epic Taxi Fare trip from 1930 with a trip from Geelong to Darwin to Brisbane and home in their 1929 Essex. Over the ensuing conversation I mentioned about the Vintage caravan group and they mentioned they had caught up with some Vintage Vanners during the trip. Just wondering if it was any of our group as I am preparing a story for Leaded TV plus Leaded Magazine on line. A photo of a Vintage Van with the Essex would be great if anyone had one. If any of the group did meet up with the Heards and the Essex can they email me direct at automarine@we.net.au as this will not only make a good story for the site but possibly for the new Leaded Annual Book we are endeavouring to produce. Further reference to this forum and some photos etc will also be made in the book. Rod G.

G'day Hillmansafari, I was probably the v.vanner that the Heard brothers and sister were refering to, unless there are others that have run across them somewhere on their adventure. We were in Longreach at the time and camped next to them in the caravan park. I will be including the story in "Lady Madonna's Travels" when I manage to catch up with that thread....... Some photos I took.... I was seriously excited by this adventure ;D ;D ;D Daggsey
