Hi Skywagon, Vans coming along nicely - i know with our supalite it's clear as to why they are called ''supalite'' . i'm guessing ours will come in around 700 kg's @ 12' in length, yours will be much lighter again being much shorter i'd reckon Great to be able to seperate from chassis to, well worth it in the long run. I noticed your jockey wheel is the same as mine also, i have perservered with mine for as long as i could, but it has to go - they are worst ones i have across by far, so it will be replaced by one off another old van i have in stock. looking forward to seeing the little weekender hit the road Kingy

Hi Skywagon,
Thats definitely the best way to do a proper resto. I'd kill for your shed, but I make do with a carport cause thats what I have.
It'll turn out another great van. Theres no real reason why most people can't do what you, Kingy, Reddo & all the others do in rebuilding a van. It just takes time, money, motivation & patience amongst the most important parts.

Kingy & JBJ thanks for the words of encouragement .... not that I need any as I am really enjoying this project so far. So far its gone quicker than I was expecting but it will slow now as the detailed work on the cupboards etc will start. I planned on it taking two years but hopefully will come in well under that but like all these type of projects the $'s are adding up but its worth it! The van is only 9 ' long and is very light as you said but it has these massive mechanical brakes with 11" dia shoes and 2" wide. these would stop a Mack truck not sure if they are original but stopping shouldn’t be a problem. Hooroo Skywagon

Those brakes were fitted in anticipation of a supercharger being retrofitted!!! Can`t say why you would have / want such large brakes considering the small size of the van unless they came off a longer van originally. Interesting to see if there are any makers name / mark on the set-up to indicate what they came off. Still very envious of your shed though. Cheers
