Speaking of fire drum Reddo, what say that those that can, bring some firewood -even if it's only a few pieces it'll all add up, or is this allready taken care of. Kingy

Yeah good thought Kingy. I drum ( pardon the pun) it into everyone that goes to Munmorah getogether to throw a few logs in thier van when they are coming. I think in the past Tickos have always managed to tear a neighbours fence down and bring a few palings down for us to burn. But it is not a big ask to throw a hand full of old offcuts from home in a sugar bag and stow em under the bed in your vans for donation at the Coledale campfires. I love my afternoon happy hours and there is no better way to extend them than to sit around a fire talkin sh#t late into the night... Its a camping caravanning tradition mate !!!! A good fire.. good company ......and a good bottle of mind altering liquid Those that dont wanna cart wood to Coledale might be able to grab a bag of wood at a garage for a few bucks. ( or go and tear thier own palings off someones fence ;D) Hmmmmmmm .......gunna have to watch those Tinny and F/glass inhabitants... might try tearing panels off our bondys to donate to the firewood appeal Sleep with one eye open all you bondy owners. ;D Reddo

Just an idea for Sat night entertainment ..........maybe could hire the services of a DJ/Disco machine thingy to provide some music / PA facility ......some local knowledge re what's available might be handy here...( thinking maybe Tickos might know of something suitable).........could easily cover the cost by asking for a small donation from each person attending ....say $5....$10. The funny/silly hat idea could be a goer this year rather than full on fancy dress/ theme..............( I'm a bit shy/self conscious when it comes to dressing up!!!!!) But happy to go with a full on theme if that's what ya want. Have seen " Red Faces" acts/skits.....type nights go off all right if you can get enough groups of people to commit to putting something together, even if its something thrown together a day or two before. Groups could be ...say...by states....A QLD group....NSW.....VIC.... ACT ..........or maybe a BONDY group.... an ALLY group.... a FIBERGROSS group etc ..etc.............an East Coast Spring Tour group( they'd have a week to come up with something while on tour!!)....KIDS groups....you name it!! ;D ;D ....I think it's worth putting some effort into..................cause the Sat night meal /get together is one of the highlights of Coledale imo.................last years Sat night was good, but lacked a bit of "spark" ,I feel, probably because we didn't have Will and Lyn to organise/ structure it for us. So come on you Coledale participants.......put your creative thinking caps on .....and hit us with some ideas!!!!! ........it ain't gotta be spectacular................to my way of thinking we've just gotta have................ ................................(a) some music ................................(b) a PA .....microphone or two ................................(c)some dancin' .................................(d) a few pre planned Acts/ Skits .................................(e)..an MC..........We've got plenty there.....Just take ya pick........Reddo....Morrie......Will........ Hi all,
Through our interest in classic cars/rods and dancing, we are friends with 2 DJ's. Both based in Sydney.
I can ask them about their availablity and cost to come down to Coledale for the night:-
Based on previous years can someone (perhaps Reddo, Sutcac, Geoff&Jude) give me an idea of start time, approx finish time etc etc, so I can see if the cost would be feasible or not.
If a DJ doesn't work out - perhaps we could hire a Karaoke System, or do a Trivia type competition.
Thanks n regards Di

Hi all,
I have asked about prices for DJ Services for the Saturday night at Coledale.
The outline I gave to the DJ's was "The rough outline is - it's very relaxed and silly. There will be about 60 ish people. I expect it will be from 7.00pm until about 10.30pm or perhaps 11.00pm. Last year most people were gone by 10.00pm, so I can't imagine it will go late. One of the guys organises games for the kids (and adults) during the night and then of course there is the time when we are eating dinner - so it's not a high pressure job."
The price I have been quoted is $300 (mates rates). That obviously includes travel from Sydney, equipment set up prior to start. etc.
So everyone what do you think- can we afford this, presumeably if we decided to go ahead we would be looking at approx $5 extra per head???
Regards Di

Hi Di & Alan.
Doesnt seem a lot to part with for entertainment.
But then I remember the reaction to my comments & suggestions for Mount Gambier. So maybe I better shut up & not comment about anything.
But whatever is decided, Boots & I & whatever grandkids we bring will go along with the majority, & pay whatever it costs, cause its minimal when you consider what us northerners pay in fuel & travel down to the Cold dale event

Hi dudes.. I am easy. i will weigh in for what ever it costs and whatever is doin on the night. No matter what happens i am sure we will have a good weekend. Maybe not as flamboyant as the great shows we have enjoyed in the past by Will and Lynn , but with a good meal, good mates, a few drinks and a few rounds of sillyness i think we will be in for a good night. Skits....jeeez i dunno about that... by 7.00pm on saturday night just gettin' up the surf club stairs will be a big enough gig for me. Reddo

Hi all, Me Again - On the Subject of Saturday Night Entertainment. Thanks to Reddo, Sutcac, JBJ who have replied online, Geoff & Jude who replied to my PM and to Maurie and Kate who I spoke to on the weekend. But where is everyone else? ? Following is a quote from Jude "I think we need entertainment, the first year Will & Lyn did their stuff & everyone stayed till midnight & then last year with no entertainment people just seemed to eat & wander off. The whole idea of the Saturday night thing was to get everyone together & have some fun as a group".I completely agree with Jude's thoughts and even though a DJ won't be as good as having a fully entertained night - it will still be alot better than nothing at all. Jude has mentioned that approx 80 have rsvp'd to the dinner on Saturday night (that obviously includes children aswell). So it looks like we will have a good crowd. At those numbers if we say a flat $5.00 per adult extra that will pay for the DJ. (no extra charge for the children) Does that sound ok to everyone? I don't want to go ahead and book the DJ only to find myself out of pocket later because people decide they don't want to pay the extra. If we go ahead with the DJ and if there are a few dollar left over we can put that in the charity bucket that Reddo has arranged. Coledale is about 5 weeks away, so everyone please bombard me with your replies in the next few days. Kind regards Di

Hi dianne,
Go with it. Considering what the trip to Coledale will cost us, why worry about a few more dollars. Travelling on a tight budget is impossible anyway.
Whatever it costs we'll pay our share.

Thanks for the subsidy Sugarshack.......that looks like $30 from Shaz & yourself ;D ;D ;D ;D
Count Carrots & I in Di.......we're not going to travel all that way to spend time knockin' out zzzzzz's on a Saturday night......I'm thinking that would apply to most Coledalers, so don't get put out by the lack of response.
Having said that, maybe a bit of encouragement for Di's efforts from others might just ease the $$ stress levels.

Hi V V's Last year we were able to pay for the hall hire from monies left over (due to no water ) from Munmorah. This year we still have to pay for hall. I think this cost is about $200.00 so please take into consideration. We all have such a great time laughing etc ;D ;D on saturday night and Ticko's are looking forward to the fun and games again.
