At the Mooloolaba weekend in february I compiled an article on Vintage Vans to be printed in Edition 12 of Leaded magazine. Unfortunately printing and distribution costs have stalled printing however the magazine is of today on line at www.leadedmagazine.com.au Go To Edition 12 Magazine - Section on Your Club where you will find the article plus a link to extra photos. Hope you all enjoy it. Once I have the Variety bash out of the way I will be looking at getting out again with the group with the yellow teardrop to go green next year and an OZ tent is now the new annex etc. Rod G.

Hi ralphy,
So far the SE Qld events have all been in different locations. The Manageress at Mooloolaba wasn't the most pleasant lady to deal with, & speaking for myself she can shove her park & herself wherever she likes. I wont go back & deal with her again.
Everywhere else we've been to has been enjoyable from a park management basis.

I just tried the link and whilst it was a bit slow (I am still on dial up though) it came up OK.
I have a few more ideas for the site with some regular updates on Vintage vans etc so give me a few weeks and I will report back when I have got things loaded. Rod G.

Re the comments on the manageress etc. A few people mentioned the same comments but I beleive with the right approach that we could get back there again. It was a great spot but then again I have spoken to a park manager only a few k's further along and they were more than helpful. I'll make a phone call in a few days and maybe we can confirm a date in February again. Rod G. ps It was interesting on the Mooloolaba run to see the bowls games stop for a few minutes while we waited at the lights. Maybe we were considered too much of a disruption for Mooloolaba ?

Thanks folks!
Works fine now (mebe the 'puter got scared I was really gunna throw it ;D). Was the park the one next door to the surf club? I have stayed there a few years back, it was a good park, the managers seemed friendly and, best of all, a short walk to Mooloolaba shops and the Surf club next door had a grouse upstairs bistro overlooking the beach, even had a jazz band on one night.
Cheers, Gristy

I think it is the same one you are referring to as the surf club has good meals at the right price and overlooks the beach and it is the Cotton Tree shops close by and Maroochydore a little further around. I'll see what I can find out. Rod G.
