I have been watching this site for a while and know a couple of members. Heres my new kombi, I was after it for 5 years and eventually got it 2 years ago, its half way through a full resto This was about 2 years ago, its now in metal in the shed. Spot the other member??? . Heres one I did a few years ago, its now in the UK. So I am looking for a fold down van or something similar Dave

I would love an Eriba but a light fiberglass fold out will do

Nice Splittie there Scouser! I've been around here for a while now but, have been very busy with other projects... Unfortunately none of them involve VW's or vintage vans at the moment Here's my bug and Teardrop Trailer... I had it at the VW nationals in Sydney just last month. If I were going to buy another trailer for my VW to tow I would be looking for a Propert... Only problem towing a Propert would be the width of the van and the difficulty of fitting any type of extended towing mirrors to a bug but, a bus would probably be more suitable. I wish you luck finding a Propert at a reasonable price now though. If you're good with your woodworking skills you maybe able to pick one up cheaply which requires a bit of work. Cheers Greg

I just looked through the pics from the VW Nationals and found your car. You should be able to pull a T.D. with that. I tow with my bug and it's only a 1200. Admittedly you know about it when you get to an incline but a 1600 should have no problems. I'm restoring a 73 Type 3 wagon next a 1600 it will be far better for pulling my T.D.
Cheers

My Td i got from Reddo, ex Willyns. You probably seen it on here. Fair bit of heavy angle iron i have to get rid of off the A frame. This has been added through the years as the original tow bar was and still is a full length timber beam - the angle frame being bolted onto it and wooden chassis rails. I just feel it`s far too heavy a weight on the backend of the bug. Once i remove the iron work i`ll have a better idea and will probably fit a standard tube frame. cheers
