It's OK Col, I realised it wasn't yours. I was just commenting on the outfit. Looks as if it's been very nicely done. I presume it's a travelling showroom or similar? What year do you reckon it is? Maybe Firefighter knows, afterall it's a Chev!!
I noted the price on the pedal car as well, which contrasted somewhat with the price put on Kathryn's van on the Collectors program. Pedal car $1350...Kathryn's van $500...mmm, let me see...I'll take Kathryn's van. Mind you the pedal car does have sunraysias as well!

Always wondered what the plural of Sportsman is, is it Sportsmans or Sportsmen? ? Also why have I named my Sportsman Myrtle. I may be confusing its gender but then I always get told I drive like an old woman!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers to all, Leigh.

Hi all,
the sportsman was originally named Camilla as I was driving a 1927 Vauxhall sedan which was named Charlie (it was dark brown) and I figured Camilla was always chasing Charlie around.
Unfortunatly the Vauxhall spat the dummy (big end) some time ago and is awaiting a motor rebuild.
In the meantime we went to W.A. for a rally and towed the Sportsman behind the Vauxhauler (Landcruiser). At one stage we were touring the Duke of Orleans bay area (wife driving) and we came to a fork in the road, carpark one way and beach the other. Dont want the carpark she says, I want to see the beach! Over the sandhill we went and found ourselves halfway down the other side, nowhere to turn around and a huge expanse of beach in front.
Nothing for it so onto the beach we went, Sportsman and all. We enjoyed a flog around the beach in front of a bunch of disbelieving 4WD guys and got the hell out of there. Karon's excuse - I just wanted to take Myrtle the Turtle down to the beach for a swim. As you said it is the right shape, color and size to be a turtle!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The name has stuck ever since but there is a slight postscipt. Last weekend I went on a overnight camp in Eildon and there was a Winnebago in the group. Some smarty decided Myrtle must be the MINIBAGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bye for now,
Leigh.
