It was said on the forum said last week that I'd made a
goose of myself, by flying to Mt Gambier, and chickening out on the drive accross the Nullabour with a vintage caravan .
So, I thought, I may as well make a real goose of myself ;D, and take the Cadbury P U R R R P L E Commoditzydore to South Australia to pick up Harri, the Harris Van.
The Commoditzydore was freighted to Adelaide by train (cheap as chips going West / East) ......and I travelled across in a way that ....... I'm very familiar with:
Harri's home was in Coffin Bay (near Port Lincoln), its a beautiful little spot, (this pic doesn't do it justice) ......the bay is a great boating spot .....if I lived there, my hobby would be vintage boats ;D ;D
An Inter ute at Cowell SA .......would I luv to get my hands on that
An ugly homemade ali spotted bout 100 kms west of Coffin Bay
Harri leaves Coffin Bay
A stop at Ceduna waiting for "Autopro" to open on Sat morn, I had no adaptor plug to suit Harri, and with night driving pending ......
More of the same
And here I am at the wheel of the Cadbury P U R R R P L E Commoditzydore ........and after driving so many K's ....I was seeing stars ;D ;D ;D
A popular way to travel the Nullabour these days by motor bike, can't blame 'em with the cost of fuel .....the bikers congregate outside the fuel stops / roadhouses .....the most embarrising thing about driving the Commoditzydore was the looks I got when climbing out of the thing ......they must have thought "whata goose that bloke is" ;D ;D
Harri nearly home .....a stop about 300kms east of Beverley
Home sweet home
Harri tucked safely away in the Beverley shed next to the
WHATA GOOSE ;D ;D
