Hey Doug and Vicki, Nice bit of promotion for the Vintage Caravan movement. Well done! A couple of nice photos of the Don to boot. (Source: Melbourne Herald Sun, Saturday 22 March 2008, p. 11)I'm not sure about the "leisurely pace" and "homely and quaint" comments from the journo though. Hardly appropriate for a Don. Hrrmphh, hrrmphh!! ;D ;D ;D Trust the weekend went well. Don Ricardo

Hi Don,
Despite the huge number of people on Philip Island over Easter, the Churchill Island event didn't seem to be as good as previous years (as informed by a friend of mine who is a local) I was down with others in our T models for the weekend and although everyone else opted not to go onto Churchill Island because of the $18 entry fee per person, we were handed an entry "band" by someone who had already been. We trundled up, and got waived through, went to park in the general carpark, only to be told that we had to follow an official, who promptly moved a barricade and asked to park inside and put the car on show, how chuffed was I! The VV's were definitely the highlight of what was on display with a nice row of lovely bondies and period tow cars. i did get some photo's and will post them here as soon as i can remember to bring the camera to work with me!
Cheers Chris

Doug and Vicki,
That item attracted so much attention in Victoria, and people remembered it for days after publication as I bet you know. I reckon we were asked two or three times a day as we traveled through Vic. if we had been part of the display at Phillip Island............. it was a great promotion for the hobby. Thanks for the photos Chris.
Cobber.
