Well, by now Carrotts & Daggsey will be on the road for the start of their 12 month around Australia (well sorta ) journey, of course stopping at Mt Gambier in a few weeks time. Before he left, we retrieved his Monaro from Gunna Panel Beaters in a small town, right down deep in the South West coast of WA. Mr Gunna, proprietor of Gunna Panel Beaters had the Monaro for 10 years (yes, you read right ...T E N years) and he was gunna panel beat & paint it for Daggsey, in fact he was paid for the job 10 years ago....as you can see, it never happened. Anyway, Mr Gunna has changed workshops a couple of times lately, and the Monaro followed, but coz these things are worth a fortune these days, Daggsey thought it would be safer in his shed at home in Bridgi. After we loaded the Monaro on the truck to take it home, Mr Gunna said " a couple of solid weeks working hard on the Monaro will finish it off ready for paint" .........mmmmm .......what can you say Its a February 1970 "186S" model ......

Dont laugh. I reckon that "piece of junk" would bring about $5000 on ebay. I seen an old speedway monaro shell sellon ebay for $8000. It did not have one straight panel on it , no front from the firewall forward and a 2" steam pipe rollcage in side it. Something else to make ya cry... Old bushy mate at work i got the Alloy Valiant 16 footer off on the weekend had a look at my HD ute the other day and said.. I had 3 of these on my farm. They went to the crushers last week ... my bottom lip started to quiver and my eyes began to well up with tears.... I should have picked up his old van a week ago.. the utes would have been saved .. as if that wasnt enough to reduce me to tears he went on to mention there was 3 old motorbikes "With funny old sprung forks" ( read here girder forks also known as springer front ends which where on old bikes up until around 1946/1947) in amongst the junk that went to the crushers.......My knees gave way and i collapsed in the gutter in uncontrollable blubbering tears..... he delivered the knock out punch with... there was a couple of Bushmill saws with BSA motors on them as well... by this stage i was thumping my forehead on the concrete gutter. He just looked at me and said "did i do something wrong ??" I am currently trying to track down the crusher mob and see if this "junk" is stockpiled somewhere or someone had the presence of mind to save any of this stuff Reddo.

I reckon Reddo might be understating the value a bit.
There was one in the same condition as Daggseys at the Balalrat Swap for $10k and some others that weren't that crash hot heading towards $30k
Reddo, GET ONTO that crusher.. I am mates with a BSA and vintage bike fan who would be 'distressed' to hear your news...

Reddo, My nephew picks up and delivers "Scrap" cars to the shredders . He tells me about the good gear that goes into the shredders and he knows himself it should be saved, but alas someone else has paid to have it taken there. I've told him to think of me if any old caravans come up, but nothing so far. Monaro Monaro Monaro ;D ;D
