Yo I am chasing a set or early holden Mags. The skinnier the better .. 13"X 6". They use to market a mag called "tasman" back in the 60s and 70s. They had 5 spoke alloy centres rivetted to chrome rims. Also has "Globe " mags on the XU1s but i reckon they would be worth as much as a house nopwadays thanks to ebay. I missed a set of tasmans at Cessnock swap by about 20 seconds. I seen a bloke unloading them out of the boot of his car and started to sprint over there. A bloke arrived just before me and bought the lot with good tyres , caps and nuts for $100 ..... TOTALLY SPEWING I WAS. I have tried fitting 13" X 7" dragways under the FE Van but they run too close on the rear for my liking and rub on the front when turning. Dont want to stuff the body on the old girl so i am chasing something a bit narrower than 7" or maybe 7" with more offset inwards Dont want "Jelly bean" mags. Has anyone got anything out there that might fit and look cool on the old van. 14" would be ok as well. Will swap you the dragways or pay cash... Its over to you. Reddo

Hi Col Thanks for the heads up re the tasman mags...... Known to "let Go" ;D ;D ;D Hmmmm ....... ::)might explain why Tasmania broke away from the mainland agazillion years ago.... A design fault at the time of creation ;D. Obviuosly god was not a mechanical engineer ;D. I have plenty of dragways that i can sacrifice. . There is plenty of room on the inside of the wheel arch to move the rim inwards. Might get the centres moved out an inch on 4 of them. Just have to dodge the disc brake caliper on the front 2 The car has standard rims and hubcaps with chrome bands ( not shown on the pictures i posted the other day). If all else fails i will paint over the white rims with a pale green similar to whats on the TD. Just need something to break up all that white on the van. Hmmmmmmm ... Might have to talk to the bro and get some constructive ideas for signwriting the side panels of the van. "Steptoe and Son.. Rag and Bone merchants..Specialising in derelict vintage caravans" "Wakefield Oil" "Castrol- Oils aint oils"". ;D or hows abouts the title i was gunna put on the TD bootlid..... ;D ;D ;D "Stone the Crows- International Marijuana Exporters" Reddo

Hi Reddo,
I had a set of Tasman wheels on my old HD wagon as a teenager back in the early seventies which look really cool on that style of car, however the local RTA had a blitz on these wheels after a wheel seperated from the cast spoke part similar to what Kaybee was saying.
Could only suggect a dragway or similar style wheel which may fit the bill or have a wheel maker do one in steel and paint it the same colour as the p/v and maybe some pinstriping around the lip and chrome hubcap to break up the solid look of the wheel and tyre?
cheers HKnut

Hi Reddo, I've still got the hotwires i had on the EH -13x 7's They must have been off a torana due to them rubbing on the upper wishbone when on full lock - meaning they have plenty of inner offset. I used spacers to overcome that problem - which i did'nt really like doing. I think you'd have the same problem on the FE - Waddiya think Col ? If your keen, let's know, i did'nt like the look of them on the EH Cheers kingy
