It It has been a while since I entered a post or made a comment but I'm seeking help if anyone out there can assist? I've gotten hold of an early shortie (short wheel based 4WD), It's a Toyota Landcruiser series 40 with original engine, seats and so on in the cabin but needing TLC. It has no cabin but it once did. I'm on the look out for bits and bobs for it such as rear lights and other things such as rear doors and so on. I have the front indicator lights as original and it runs (a reconditioned engine no less). It is around the 60's era so I think it qualifies as a period vehicle. My aim is to restore it along with the Valiant S and use it for towing the TD I built as I will with the Valiant (by the way Reddo, my novocastrian co contributor - early Valiants had a full chassis and didn't break apart hitting trees but I still think trees should stay off the road). Can you help me find a cabin for it? I could convert it to a soft top but I'd prefer the original cabin look. Any help most gratefully received.

Nice choice Royce, a classy old cruiser. Try contacting one of the mobs (that advertise in the 4X4 trader mags) who re-engineer early cruisers by putting on fake fibreglass jeep/cruiser soft-top bodies. Surely they would have bodies to dispose of? Good luck with the resto, it will make a nice 1960s version of the current Grey-Army touring package! Tinnie

Thanx Tinnie - didn't consider the fiberglass option. I'll look into it when I get back from the Rugby World Cup. ;D ;D

I was actually thinkin they would be throwin/sellin original tin bodies. But a glass one would certainly make sense. Enjoy the cup Royce! Cheers, Tin-man

Would you believe I only just caught up with this post - in Belgium at the moment - been in england but not to Cornwall where a member of this forum resides. Just left Paris and the cup atmosphere has been magic - oz doing well is great.
Anyway I hope you're right and I can get a tinnie top to go on it. I've seen a few deuxchevaux over here. They appeal to my weird tastes but I'd have to build a real light teardrop for one of them.
No point, divorce doesn't suit my pocket.
