Hello all
Our 10ft Don has Olympic Air Ride 600 x 16 tyres. It’s coming up for rego now & will need new tyres.
What tyres does everyone put on their Dons that still look authentic?
Thanks smiles

G'day Smiles,
I haven't answered because our Don now has 14" HQ wheels and light truck tyres - so not authentic...but, shhhh, don't tell anyone...
Light truck tyres work well on a caravan and provide good stability, but you may not want to use them.
I wonder what Surf Tragic puts on his Dons? Maybe he'll see these posts and tell us?

Hello.
I intend fitting new wheels & tyres same as Don Ricardo, it was a qestion I was going to ask, I just need the tyre type & rating please ?. The main reason for the change from 16" is the deeper Chassis, the whole van was getting too high off the ground !! I'm also fitting a new axle & electric brakes, a bit of a change from the air operated original.
The last Don 133 I fitted a 16" Light Truck Radial tyre. The worst tyres I ever fitted were cross ply from an antique tyre dealer, they seem out of shape & don't track well, the radials look good & perform very well. I think it's important to use the latest tyres , they are safer in my perspective.

Found my original post : The Yokohama Radial tyres fitted great, look great, wish I had them on the 120 instead of the crossply, these are the exact size of the original 6.00.16.

Update posted on behalf of Smiles:Finally got tyres for our Don 100. We are thrilled as they are virtually identical in size & tread to the Olympic Air Ride tyres that were on the Don. They are light truck & bus tyres, 10 ply & didn’t cost an arm & a leg at $240 each.
