Here is our Atlantic van behind the Austin 1800. It's the dream rig - car, van, beach, surfboards on the roofracks. The photographer was even wearing a Hawaiian shirt. We initially had a problem that like all Austin 18 tonners, the hydrolastic suspension had sunk in the bum with age. To fix this the rear suspension units were shimmed by a suspension specialist in Sydney, restoring it to its original up-in-the-bum-down-in-the-front attitude. It means that for towing, as long as the van isn't too loaded up the car tows level. For the rest of the time a couple of Besser bricks in the boot will make the car look level. The Austin has been great for family vanning, with great vision and comfy seats

Good Job Belinda. Nothing like commonsense grounding amongst flights of fancy. Good job with the stoneguard, I like the stippled type aluminium you got.
Reddo. I like to have the tv with me cos I can. All the years I used a tent I would look over at the people in the vans and think, one day.... Im going to just turn the kettle on without digging the stove out, and one day Im going not worry whether it rains or not and one day Im going to sit and watch Tv. I love all those old games but When the day is done and the fishing is over I like nothing better than to sit and lose my head in a senseless programme. I hope it wasnt your missus you were offering to me to play with. I dont have one myself but if I did she would more than likely be P'd off that I wasted ten minutes of her time. Scoot.
