;D
hi to our Italian and Cornish contributors and regular members
I havent been on lately because im to stuffed when I get home to even scratch myself unfortunately there is a labour shortage in W.A due to the boom
and unfortunately I am the soul provider of labour for my business plus a part timer
the Ol Black Betty has just recieved a transplant
A newly reconditioned 351 fitted with full gas valves and caps
the new aircon / heater goes in next week for our trip back to Queensland
Lyn and I will be heading back to Queensland late january to renovate the house we purchased it settles soon so hard work and plenty of it have been saving to renovate the house
every thing worked out fine leaving JFK there because we can set the kennedy up in the backyard and stay in it for the month while we are renovating the house then tow it home when we are finished
we were extremely fortunate in three respects last year being able to attend Reddos run and Coledale then head of to Hervey Bay where we had wanted to visit for a long time
and fortunate to find our house
because the place is so big 7 bedrooms two bathroom two kitchens etc we are going to set it up as a short stay for families and large groups
we will supply a four wheel drive
a tinnie and outboard and a catamaran for the occupants
if any parties are interested discount for members of our group
I saw a piece on A current affair where Hervey Bay was voted Australias happiest Town ( Interesting )
Lyn and I are happy I guess thats a start
We loved Jailbar and Sues part of the world would have loved to stayed there too
thanks again for the great stay JB and Sue Reddo and Trish
and all the other great people we met and the offers to stay with them however Ol Black Betty was on tender hooks a bit and we were lucky to drive home without any trouble so we drove straight home
the RACQ did some work on the effy and said dont drive it to far or we would be calling for a tow
got us home no probs ran on all 8 cylinders to WA from Queensland then the very next day I went out to start the car and did exactly the same thingas it did at the RACQ ran on 5 cylinders
OL Black Betty got us home and then carked it
how good is that
betty and JFK should be in januarys Aussie ute mag if not February
hope to catch up with some members while we are in Queensland and on the way home
all are welcome to come up and help us renovate if youve got a spare couple of weeks (chuckle chuckle)
free food and accomodation
5 minutes to the beach two streets back
