Hi all, I’m new to the forum and we have a 14’ timber van that we’ve restored.
His name is “Barry” and we don’t know how old he is but I’m guessing 1960s. We have the last rego paper (NSW) which has a chassis number on it but I haven’t found the chassis number on the caravan. Any suggestions where to look?
I’d post photos if I knew how!!
Cheers Richard

Hi Aussiebeatle, Welcome to the forum and thanks for telling us about your caravan. Sorry for taking a while to respond, but we'll certainly help you answer a few questions about it if we can. I'm glad to hear it has been restored and looked after. The serial number is helpful, but some photos will help as you've indicated. There's instructions on how to post photos on the forum if you click here. The easiest way to post photos is by using the 'Add Attachment' button, but I notice that you are posting via your mobile, so there's an extra little step you need to do on your mobile to make the 'Add Attachment' button appear. Just read the instruction all the way through. The forum has been running for almost 20 years now and we're using 'old technology', but there's a wealth of info recorded on the forum and there's no real way to transfer it all to a newer platform. Be that as it may, I hope you can work out how to post the photos. If you can't you're welcome to email your photos to me and I'll post them for you. My email is caravanhistory@gmail.com Don Ricardo

Hi Don,
I can't load photos as i get an error message saying that the "capacity limit for the forum has been exceeded".
The photo was only 150KB.
Any suggestions?
regards, Richard

Hi Aussiebeatle, Sorry you've run into that problem with photos. Just adding to Shesgotthelook's reply, the forum has a set limit in MB's for photos posted as 'Attachments', hence the message you got. I can fix that over the weekend by spending some time converting some of the photos posted as attachments into another format. I will do that, and you can either wait for me to do it or take up SGTL's suggestion re using Flickr or PostImage. As she says, it's very easy once you get the hang of it. And of course you can take up her offer to post the photos for you. In the meantime, I'll work to sort out the problem with attachments. Don Ricardo for the Admin Team

Hi again Aussiebeatle,
I've done some work on the attachment photos, so you should be fine to post some of your photos using the 'Add Attachment' button now. Let me know if you still can't.

Another programme I use for publishing images here is IMGUR (https://imgur.com/) I have found it easier to upload photos & by using the "direct link" button , they publish immediately through "insert image".
