Visited Peak Hill today, the EH/EJ Holdens & a Chev are still in the showroom, still shrouded in mystery, the owner has now passed away. I've been this way during the past 25 years, things have been moved a little, there is now an EJ panel van at the back. What a shame. The outside yard on the highway has suffered a fire, but still lots of old Holden parts that would be useful.

Not surprised that the owner has passed away. Last I heard when I went through there was that he had a bad fall down the RSL steps one night. If my informant was correct, there is another building where there are more cars. Doesn't surprise me if it's true, as he was the Holden dealer there. I suppose that at some point, there will be a Shannons auction.

Last time in Peak Hill we spoke to a local who told us that the sheds opposite the showroom were full of cars/stuff and that the late owners two sons had a large property surrounded by cars, They had absolutely no interest in selling anything. The sentiment seemed to be let them rust!

Yep, drove through Peak Hill a few years ago and did a double take as i passed the wrecking yard beside the old service station and saw the piled up holdens/valiants etc with glistening chrome bumpers! Neighbour told me the old man had owned both and the long-closed Holden Dealership in town. Drove back and looked in front window..total time capsule! Looked through side windows of shedding...same...old vehicles covered in dust. Locals said same thing. Son(didn't know there were 2 sons) refuses to sell anything, just like the old man had. Shame to see the non-chrome just rusting away.

Another Holden in an old shop at Peak Hill, the roof of the store has fallen in at the back. The car is in good order.
