Hi everyone I have slowly been refitting the inside of my van I recently acquired I am wondering in what order I should be carrying out some work
I have to place new inner panels on kitchen side of the van as I ripped them out to replace some of the wood rot on the back corner.
There are two electrical sockets previous owner put in and now are just cables there and a solar plugs so guess I should wait to an electrician sorts that out and makes it safe and add trip switch etc then attach new panels. I have made a template for the ply to be cut
The j rails need to come off and cleaned and then the van needs resealed Then looking at painting . Is it preferable to remove the windows before painting the outside of the van I was hoping to add new rubbers and had not intended to remove windows.
Should the paint on the outside be stripped off before removing j rails and resealing and painting entire van ?
The wet weather is my issue so may have to wait if need to take rails off for extended period whilst stripping paint and cleaning up under the rails etc
side note the van will be professionally painted at a workshop so won’t be a home job

A bit difficult to respond without seeing the van. Certainly get the electrician in to do whatever needs t be done while panels are off. If you're planning to have the van professionally repainted, I would be taking the window frames out and then resealing everything. Less chance of having missed a water entry point. You may need to tarp the van during this prepping, but better that than a leak after all that good work is done.
