Morning,
I am looking at purchasing a Hacienda Caravan from 1978. I know nothing about this brand, is there any information about them online anywhere?
From a renovation point of view, will this one have any asbestos in it? Im assuming maybe the flooring?
Thanks for any advice.

G'day Aussienick, Welcome to the forum. The forum is focused on caravans built prior to 1970, so 1978 is a bit outside the knowledge base of most of us. However, there is a tiny bit of information about Hacienda in the Down History Lane thread about Scenic caravans, because apparently some Hacienda vans were sold badged as Scenics. You'll find the info here, What's on that thread won't really answer your questions though. However forum member Hughdeany will probably be able to help you. He knows a lot about vans from the 60's and 70's onwards. Don Ricardo

Hi Aussienick, Hacienda were only around for 3 years from 1977-1980,so not many are left! They were a nice van that used different wood grains to other vans and had very nice colour co ordination for the era. They are wooden framed and made in Melbourne, also known as Scenic for a short time and possibly others that sold under their own banner. It will probably have asbestos in the floor vinyl,as every other van has, most people just go over the top with new vinyl. Hope this helps Cheers hughdeany

Hi Don and Hugh.
Thank you so much for the info. Really interesting. We are checking out the caravan this weekend. If it all looks good we will be taking it on Saturday.
It looks great in photos. Hopefully it will look that good in the flesh.
