Hi everyone, We are selling our Row Van on Ebay and I dont really know what the outer covering is. It is hard when knocked and seems a bit like masonite. It is not ply. Would it be Bondwood? Thanks for any help. regards Bushgirl.

G'day Bushgirl, There has been a lot of discussion here regarding “Rowvan' & “Playtime” caravans.... have a look at vintagecaravans.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=chat&action=display&thread=1203715604The only information I can find indicates that “Rowvans”, in 1962 after they had been sold to Keith Odgers ?, had Marine ply on the 10 & 12ft. Models and aluminium on the larger ones, whereas a 1959 magazine has no mention of “Rowvans” but does say that “Playtime” caravans had Marine ply OR tempered masonite. Would you mind posting a photo of your ' van on the forum, or let us know when you list it on ebay, what year model do you think it is ?. Trodler will let us know if “Rowvans” also had the option of ply or masonite.... stay tuned. Cobber. Woops... found the ebay listing......... Item number: 170199018676

Dear Cobber, Thank you so much for that information. The Playtime looks very much like our Row Van. The double bunks are at the front left at the door and the table at the other end. It does not have a water tank I think a square tank sat near the sink as there seems to be room for it. The port holes do not open and we were told it was bought mid fifties. Could Playtime have sold the business to the Row Van people and they just used the same patterns. Even the paint work on the outside looks like the Playtime. Anyway thanks a lot Cobber. Regards Bushgirl.
