Hello,
I would like a small caravan for a spare bedroom/office. The available height under my carport is 2550 mm (driveway slab to ceiling) and the approach is all level. I have gleaned that most caravans are between 2700 and 3000 mm tall but have noticed some references to old Viscount caravans being under 8 feet in the old money. Are vintage caravans lower to the ground? Be grateful for input.
Thanks.

Hi Jpa I think your spare room may be in the guise of a "poptop", to drop the height you can let the tyres down to 10lb to manoeuvre into your carport, I have a 17' Viscount it measures 2300mm from the center of the wheel to the roof, (excluding the hatches) so if you removed the road wheels & lowered the van onto "dolly wheels" one like it may just fit? Cheers Brent

Thanks Mustang,
I am looking at Carastow wheels which appear to be between 380 and 400 mm in diameter. That might just get me there.
