Hi guys went and borrowed the old mans 1950s kero blow torch.I put in a fresh batch of kero and pumped away.It hadnt been used for 15 years and that was the last time I borrowed it to paint my fascia and gables. I wanted to use it on the gypsy but Im not to sure as it my damage the resin ply,even the original gypsy owner said the same thing.Not looking foward to using paint stripper when Ive got this wicked piece of machinery.Any ideas guys. Just goand buy a $30 dollar heat gun from Bunnings. They have two heat settings but dont forget a GOOD face mask as that old paint will be lead based Cheers, Steve.

Hi C/D Good enough for grandad and your old man. i say good enough for you. There is nothing wrong with these old flame throwers. Just take your time and get use to regulating the heat. The world is full of "stick insects" and "greenies" that have been gelded and therefore havent got what is needed down thier shorts to match there forefathers in the bravery stakes. Be a man like your grandad was and follow tradition. Spark up that blow torch and have a go ya big tart , Worst you can do is incinerate yourself and the van Reddo.. part time OHS officer and full time realist.
