As it turned out it was not huge for Vintage Caravan interest. There was one old van for sale, and a few bits here and there, and some more modern stuff, but for me, it was not enough to make it worthwhile from the Vintage Caravan point of view. But, never know next time maybe. However, lots of the usual swap meet sellers were also there with all the car parts, rustic items and antiques, so ended up finding a few things anyway in the other areas of interest. Hi John&jacquie,
Thanks for the report on the Gawler swapmeet, and for posting the photos of the caravan you saw there. What a nice looking van - it looks very well built. Were you able to get any details about its history or origins?
I am guessing that it was home built, but I'm impressed by some of its features. I assume the roof is in aluminium? If so, achieving the double camber as neatly as that is very well done.

Hi Don Ricardo As usual in a frenzy to get as much as possible done that morning, we did not find out the history on the van. It was for sale for $5000 ono, and there is a phone number that may be readable on the back window glass (if not we have higher resolution). Perhaps we (or someone) can ask about its history via the phone number. John&Jacquie Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

We did have a look at this van about 18 months ago. All metal frame from memory and all ally cladding. It was an interesting and unique caravan. Definitely one of a kind. Wasn't able to get much history on it from the seller at the time. I think he was selling as part of his Dads estate. Doesn't look like much has been done. $5000 seems very optimistic as it was around the $3000 back then. Definitely a restoration for a metal worker.
