Hi hwyman, I heard Shannon Lush who wrote "Spotless" talking about this on the radio the other day.She said (I think) to soak it in a strong salt water solution to kill the mould. I might have to buy that book. regards, Rodp

G'day Brian,
Shannon Lush in her book doesn't specifically mention canvas & mould but to get mould of your handbag she suggests:- "Mix a small quantity of vinegar and water and wipe it over the mould with a cloth. Then wipe with a clean cloth. Add 1 drop of oil of cloves to leather dew on a cloth and wipe over the bag. The oil of cloves will inhibit further mould growth." If it works on your handbag mate it might be safe to try it on one corner of your canvas.
Hope that helps. Cobber.

I was watching Gardening Australia on the ABC about 12 months ago. The old fella on there suggested using 1 part vinegar to 10 parts water for removing mould and mildew. I'm fairly certain it will work.
I use pool chlorine for removing mould and mildew from my paths at home but, I would'nt try it on your canvas handbag ;D
Cheers
Greg
