DonFicardo - why is there no leadlighting on this van? / Also the "front window awning" would that be an add on? I know the sellers neighbor apparently he saw it in a shed where it has sat for many years, I believe he towed it home!!!!!

Hi Roehm and Mustang,
The van on Ebuy is a Don 122 (12 ft 6 in, three berth) with the serial number 1108 (according to the seller and a blurry photo, not 1208 - but Mustang may have seen the actual plate?). With that serial number it would have been built in 1958, two years after regular production of the leadlight model caravans ceased, and built to special order. It's probably close to the last of that model built.
Given the above, it could mean that this van was built with plain glass rather than leadlight windows. But it has been modified at some stage with the awning over the front window, replacement of the ice box with a fridge, four seasons hatch, smaller wheels, and the spats, so I'm inclined to think that the windows were also modified at some point.

Are you telling us that it no longer looks like a Don and therefore isn't a Don, Sir???
