Hi All I'm a newbie and hope I'm posting in the right spot, I have been trying to find some info on a Murrumba star van I have and stumbled across this awesome site, I have been searching through the different sections and have found quite a bit of good info and pictures. The van I have is a 15 FT aluminium, from what I have found on this site I think it is 2/67 as the chassis no: ends in 2.7 and there is a card above the sink that says the electrical wiring was completed feb 67 , I think it may be a venus model ?? but all the info I have read say they are 4 berth vans and all the pics I have seen, show on the left hand rear side of the van ( door side) 1 window, my van is 5 berth ,in the rear it has 1 bunk on the right and 1 bunk on the left with a fold up bunk above it and has 2 smaller windows for each bunk on that side , I was wondering what model it would be or wether it is a venus and was ordered with the extra bunk, any help and info would be appreciated ,,,,,,,,regards dave

Hi Dave, They would have come standard with 2 single beds, with the option of extra bunks.5 berth always had top bunk on curbside,so kitchen sliding stove top could slide over the single on the roadside. 6 berth would of course have 4 singles,2 on each side and the stove lid would hinge up against side wall. Hope this helps. Cheers hughdeani

Hi Sen57r, Welcome to the forum. Good to hear about your Murrumba Star and its layout. I presume you have found the Murrumba Star thread in the 'Down History Lane' section? Just in case you haven't click here. There's a 1967 advert posted there that includes the 15 ft Venus, so if your van is 15 ft, that's what it will be - just with an alternative layout with a set of bunks. The advert says that there were three different layouts offered for the Venus model. It's great to have the info about the build date, which all points to February 1967, as you say. A lot of people on the forum would love to have that info about their vans. Don Ricardo

Hi Sen57sr,
It would be great to see some pics of your van.
The most satisfactory way to post photos is via an online photo storage website. The one most of us use Photobucket, but you can also use Flickr and couple of others. There are instructions how to do it in the 'Forum Guidelines & Helpful Hints' section of the forum.
