G'day Murray, Interesting to see this van surface again. The last time we saw it was when JBJ posted photos of it back in 2014, and you may remember that you yourself traced the rego plate to having been issued in 1966. But I think that that must have been when the van was re-registered - the design is much older than that and I would think that the van was built well before 1966. I'm guessing the 1940's? JBJ's photos and the resultant discussion are here. As you will see, when JBJ posted the photos, it was in relation to the C H Applebee vans and it was suggested that this van might be an Applebee. Since then a few Applebees have turned up, and I've spent a lot of time comparing the Gumtree van with the Applebees and have personally concluded that it most probably isn't one of his. In the end Applebee's vans are relatively consistent in their design, and the Gumtree van is just too different in too many different areas. However, I haven't yet excluded the possibility that the van may have been built by one of the other Tasmanian caravan manufacturers. I'm still quietly working on that one in the background...
