The identity of the builder of this van is written inside a cupboard with the build date given as 15 November 1958. Note the logo on the front of the van.
Photos of the caravan before restoration and repainting are contained in the article in the magazine. The van has been repainted to match the tow vehicle, but the 'before' photos show that the cladding was originally unpainted with some blue flashes on the side. However, I wonder if the van may have been re-clad at some stage because the profile of the aluminium cladding wasn't used on other caravans until around 1963/4 or later. Those vans which were clad in aluminium before 1960 were clad in plain, stippled or diamond-embossed sheeting.
Good to see the VCM back on the shelves and featuring some interesting Australian vintage caravans, by the way.
