Hi all, I have these 2 window parts that need to be replaced on all Windows (as you can see by their state) I know what they are called and have found somewhere to buy the exact parts (although we require 14 of each so it works out quite pricey), but I was wondering if anyone has replaced these parts with anything different? As i'm new to the world of vintage caravans, I'm not sure whether it is better to replace these old parts with something identical (for the sake of function and keeping to the vintage look and feel) or whether I could replace them with something more subtle and "aesthetically pleasing"? Suggestions perhaps? Cheers G

Hi
I have about 6 or so of the retaining clip assemblies new, that I over ordered. They are the long ones, & I paid about $10 each.
If you want I can take a photo of them, & check on postage costs I will sell them to anyone for $7.50 each plus plus postage. I will need your post code to work out out postage.
Otherwise these bits & heaps of others will be on our for sale table at the nationals. JBJ

Thanks for the suggestions people. I have just bit the bullet and gone ahead and purchased the exact replacement parts which appeared cheaper than most were suggesting anyway so figured I needed to adjust my expectation of costs!! ....In addition I finally have the Windows off and we can see clearly what rubbers we need. I have contacted the recommendations from here already with no success so if anyone else might be able to assist me in finding these seals I would be much appreciative! (Incidently our local glass place won't even give me a quote on replacing the glass on the 3 broken windows until we have the rubber seals which is SUPER helpful :/ )

All of the window fittings that you are after are available at your local caravan dealer, or at least they are here in Coffs Harbour. Sometimes parts for vintage vans are not as hard to obtain as people may think. Always a good starting point (not always successful though) is your local caravan dealer Good luck Rod

If you think you have a local place that can supply these window seals, a name and contact details for them would be hugely appreciated. Thanks

Yeah, sorry mate, I knew and then promptly forgot about the island thing. Must make it tough for you.. Did you manage to get any of the stays? If you haven't then I can get you some, stick 'em in a postage bag and sent them across. You stick some money in my bank and all is done. Just let me know. Rubber, a bit harder without physical sample in my hand, maybe email to Clarkes Rubber or a rubber specialist for vintage cars. They seem to have a squillion and 1 profiles
Cheers

Thanks for the offer Rodnet. Yeah I just ended up buying the same stays and swing bolt as the originals from an online store. The rubbers are certainly proving to be a bit tricky so will keep working on that one. Yes the Island thing is a bit tricky with a lot of things....in particular sourcing products! Ahhhh good times Thx G
