Hi All,
Well it happened the last weekend, a great rod run in northern NSW that a lot of rodders go to.
Quite a few vintage vans also, but many are decorated as "Betty Boop" style, or modernised to match the towing hot rod or custom.
But still a lot like to see pix of them, so heres my effort.
We made it down on Friday, towing our Olympic behind my Dodge. Still a few hiccups with it, but I got there & back, running very smooth except for running hot & no speedo. They are some of the many things I need to fix.
Butcher Bob who was a forum member, has built himself a new teardrop to go around Australia in ( again)
these are some of the vans I took photos of.
This one is late 50's Trailmaster I think
Dave & Jackies Airstream, with one of the best polishing jobs I've seen
A few hot rods for those that enjoy them.
Aussie bodied 37 Chev Sloper
This 36 Ford Tudor was a very rough shell in the shop where my Dodge rust repairs were done, at the same time as mine.
Very nicely finished
LHD 40 Ford Standard Tudor, pretty much as found in USA & imported
This is a 46 Ford coupe.
Nice chopped 36 Ford coupe. I dont think it was Leanne's old car, but I could be wrong. Her old Ford 46-48 ute was here also
One of the many dozens of 32 Ford fibreglass roadsters.
There were a few original steel bodied ones here also
Some people appear too have TOO MUCH money
Pete & Doug both are confined to wheelchairs, & have had these rods for a long time. Doug is sitting in the A, Pete owns the black 37 roadster.
Both rods run flathead motors, but Pete's has what looks like Hilborn fuel injection
These are flathead powered. Lots of big dollar blown flatheads, & heaps of over the top cars, with very big dollars spent. Hell of a lot were trailered, especially the longer distance ones.
Some USA cars
56 Oldsmobile pillarless 4 door
48 Plymouth coupe
1951 Pontiac 4 door
It was a good weekend. Lots of rain & storms as usual, but thats Yamba
It was fun
