I was invited to meet a member of the Campbelltown Steam museum on site, at Menangle, where he has a caravan located that he would like to sell to somebody who is interested in restoring it. It is a plywood van that has had a leaking roof, the ceiling would need replacement. All the floor tiles have come loose. There is evidence of other water damage inside, some cupboard doors don't fit real well. The exterior plywood appears to be in good condition, the 'paintwork' is actually pealing / flaking off it, it looks to me like it has been coated with Bote - Cote or some similar epoxy system that has protected the ply really well, but not for much longer. I can't work out what make of van it is, maybe somebody can help us with that info It is 12' long by 6' 9'' wide. He is asking about $500 for it ONO, make an offer if you are interested. What ever he gets for it will be donated to the Steam Museum, so here is your chance to be a philanthropist The near side. The off side. The way the 'paint' is flaking off in places. The front, with the highly prized window cover. The rear, again with a window cover. Now the bad news, the ceiling The roof wot leaked. It has a gas cooker, refrigerator, double bed one end and table that converts to provide double bed at the other end. PM me if you would like more photos or arrange an inspection of the van Cobber.
