Attachment DeletedGuys, I am looking to find some history on this PIXIE van, I plan to do a full resto on it however I have no idea what year it is, I purchased it from Shepparton Victoria in March of this year however the guy I bought it from was NOT the owner according to VIC ROADS and those "darlings" won't give me any info to help The id plate has been removed and I am unable to locate any indentifying numbers on the van. Note entry door is from rear, and it has a two stage roof (factory) and it is only 2.5 mtrs long Can anyone help GregAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

HI Greg, Wow,I haven't seen one of them for years! They were sold from the Crusader outlet in Highett Melbourne in about 1969. They were an import from Crusader NZ,and was the smallest that was bought over, their range went up to 26ft and of course this was the baby! I only ever saw 2 of these,so I reckon this is pretty rare. I don't think Australia was ready for a baby van like this, when eveyone wanted more and bigger, hence the rarity. Hope this is of some help. Cheers hughdeani

Hi Greg, Do you think the bodywork could be filled and painted, possibly by a panel Beater? I ask because you will never get that profile NZ aluminium, and it would detract from its cuteness to put boring Ali on it! Cheers hughdeani

Hugh, I think it's beyond panel beating they have made a good job of the body work. I should be able to fold up replacement panels, I guess even though it's the one of the smallest vans I have ever seen...It's still an overwhelming thought to start ripping it apart hence the question of assistance? I have built 5 motor homes from scratch over my lifetime including a 40 foot Denning coach, raised the roof 11 inches and made it a try deck, actually I did two of those never finished the first one. Currently I have a Mazda T3000 ex school bus, that I completed back in 2001 inc fitting a 350 chev v8......and it is great......so once I jump I will be into it. Greg

Gday Greg. I`m with Hughdeani on your Pixie resto.Once you replace the panels the originality is gone.Lost forever. The dents i see on the enlarged pics really aren`t of any concern.Certainly they can be reduced. If you`ve done tri-decks & other stuff i can`t see why you shouldn`t restore this baby as she looks. gordon (ex coach builder)
EDIT- 4:17PM. Just had another look.Still convinced you can reduce most of the dents & the scrapes. As for the logo i`d be inclined to trace a copy of its entirety - everything about it.Pop rivets/screws/brackets are of no consequence - all replaceable if need be.Same for lights/reflectors.
