Hi All, So yesterday I bought this inexpensive twin axle 15 foot 1965 Sandrover caravan ... it's got more water damage than the Titanic but we are hoping that we will be able to restore it .... initially I am hoping to find some advice... were these models known for their leaks and is that draw bar original? Thanks Dawn Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Hi Dawn, For some reason I think we have seen that van on here before in much better condition! Tandems were rare for Sandrover, especially on a van that small. The A frame is standard,it's just the stress bar underneath looks like an add on for some reason, maybe something heavy was carried on the front? Any van will leak if not looked after,it's all in the ongoing maintenance.Looks like your work is cut out for you,but it will be worth it in the end. Hope this helps Cheers hughdeani

Thanks hughdeani :-) I don't think this particular one has been on here before but I could be wrong ... it's been in the same family since new and the previous owner was quite private. I so wish it had been stored out of the weather, but that can't be helped now. It only cost me $50 so I am hoping that all the cost of the repairs will be worth it .. I will get someone in the know to have a look at it and make the decision from there. If we get some positive news my husband and I would like to try some of the work ourselves and I am sure we will find lots of inspiration from some of the beautiful vans others own on this site. Cheers Dawn

Hi again Dawn, You have a bargain there, hopefully you can repair it and bring it back to life! Not to many Sandrovers around ,and the numbers are dwindling. Good luck with your project and keep us informed with lots of pictures! Cheers hughdeani
