G'day CrystalGrace, What a great van you have there! Thanks for showing us the photos on the forum. I think almost everyone on the forum likes to see pictures! I am particularly intrigued with your van, because it looks a bit different in a number of ways to all the other Viscounts we've seen from around 1959/60. If you have a look at one of my posts on the Down History Lane Viscount thread by clicking here, you'll see some information I've tried to assemble about Viscount caravans from that period. I'm wondering if the reason why your van is a bit different is because it was assembled in a different factory. As you may be aware, Viscount had factories in South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria, and models built in the various factories appear to have differed from one another. Are you able to tell us the serial number welded on the drawbar of your caravan? That might tell us where it was built and help us line it up in sequence with other Viscounts from those years. I would be most interested if you are able to tell us that. In the meantime, enjoy your van as you seem to be doing! Don Ricardo

Hi. thank you for your interesting and detailed post.. when the van was registered a few years ago. The stamp on the draw bar couldn't be confirmed so Vic roads made us put another new stamp on it.. I wasn't happy with that as they didn't know what year it actually was. I'm just guessing as I have seen a few more exactly the same. One at Cavendish Camp-out 2014. There was a special tiled inside the doorway with an emblem on it if memory serves me well. its not there anymore as lino tiles were removed and carpet put in. I think the original stamps might have been V 155 ? its too dark to go outside tonight but I will have another look tomorrow. thanks..

Thankyou Trish Martin. I forgot i had joined years ago using EricLyn and had to rejoin.. Yes i certainly do have her. I love her! Originally she had a pale baby blue flash and a singlular click clack couch/bed. The original 2way fridge my naughty son 'borrowed' out of her against my wishes 25yrs ago and he broke it and i never got it back! Original Fridge was very small old looking with a handle and was brown or cream from memmory. If you look inside the bench at the stoves should have a date of manufactor. Also original hub caps were holden with red. I must go look at that stove.. lol
