Eddies heading says 1950s.So if built as late as 1959 it would make it 55 years old. gordon

van was purchased for $250 and was pretty rough ,but so am I.at the time my former wife and I had no money and wanted to take the kids on a holiday.so ,a few patches , a coat of paint, some canvass stretchers ,a few patches in the annexe ,we had it made .after resting in various lean-tos ,hay sheds, verandahs etc it was time to make a decision ...restore or bonfire .we decided on the former. after much research and info.from this website we are conviiinced our caravan is a Highway Road Cruiser manufactured in kit form around 1955.there is no evidence of identification any where on the caravan or chassis.pictures soon, regards ,eddie

G'day Eddie,
Great to hear about your van and the reason you bought it all those years ago. I bet you and your family have got some great memories from your times away in it. And it's great to hear that you're intending to refurbish it.
You've mentioned photos, and I'm sure we're all looking forward to seeing some pics. There are instructions on how to post photos using an online photo storage website such as Photobucket and Flickr in the 'Forum Guidelines & Helpful Hints' section of the forum. You can also post photos using the 'Attachment' button in the 'Create Post' window, but the results you get by using, say, Photobucket are better. It takes a little while to figure out how to use Photobucket but it is worth doing, especially if you're going to show us pics of your renovation as you go.
Let us know if you have trouble working the posting photos thing out, and one of us will help you get there.
Don Ricardo

Hi Oldbitsmadenew, Don't take it to heart. We all mis-read or miss something in a post from time to time, so just goes to show you're human like the rest of us! Don Ricardo
