The forum is undergoing a change of the moderator team.
Effective Monday 19th May, all moderating positions will be vacant.
The change is necessary to be in line with our new Proboards forum, the emphasis of social media in today’s society, the need to now pay for certain features of the forum and the importance to steer vintagecaravans.com and it’s forum in a new direction.
The vintage caravan movement is now huge, and much bigger than “vintagecaravans.com” and its forum. If we are to survive and remain an interesting and fun forum, some changes are necessary.
As far as the everyday operation of the forum is concerned, not much will change, in fact any change will be aimed at making it a better and more interesting and fun place to visit and participate .
New blood with fresh ideas and a drive to improve things is where we are headed.
A major issue that will be addressed is our frustration with photo hosting websites, there has to be a better easier way to upload photos, and that we will persue.
It is timely to thank our moderating team for the excellent work they have done. These guys have excelled themselves, and will still be a big part of what we do.
FIREFIGHTER.
Geoff came on board as the head of our moderating team (Administrator) in 2009, and has been at the helm for the most successful three National events we have held. His negotiations with caravan parks, sponsors, and his tireless work with members has been exceptional. His patience, fairness and ability to get things done is well known and appreciated by all members .It’s largely a thankless job being a forum Administrator, but Geoff has never complained and has just got on with the job and task at hand. Geoff, I thank you and hope that you will remain an active member of our forum.
DON RICARDO.
Richard has been a moderator for many years and during this time has built the DOWN HISTORY LANE section into the most informative and accurate record of pre 1980 Australian caravans on the internet. Richard is our historian, and works tirelessly to research and unravel the history and mystery of Australia’s early caravan industry.
Richard has also been a very fair and welcoming moderator. He is always there to answer and help new and existing members with their enquiries. Richard will remain with us and continue his fantastic work on DHL, and will be there to assist new and existing members, but will no longer be involved with day to day moderation of the forum.
CONTI.
Geoff I’ve know for many years and he came on board as a moderator a few years ago. He has been our technical man, and main marketing man and assisted many members with their technical issues (loading photos etc) and at the same time assisting me to sell our merchandise. Thank you Geoff, and I’m sure you will remain a valued member of our forum.

Steve has been a moderator for a couple of years now, and has been there to support us in the day to day running of the forum. He also assisted with the organisation of our recent Broken Hill Nationals. Thank you Steve, and I hope that you too will remain an active member of our forum.
So stay tuned folks as things progress over the following weeks.
