Hi All The Apple & Grape Festival is on every 2 years & 2014 is it again! It is a great event worth going to with heaps of free things to do, including free tastings at the wineries, brass bands in the park, free apples etc etc appleandgrape.org/I phoned the only decent caravan park in Stanthorpe & it was booked out, mostly from 2 years ago. The other parks outside Stathorpe are full of backpackers so I contacted the Stanthorpe Showgrounds & made a booking with the Secretary for 7,8,9 March. They will only have 3 groups staying there including ours. The Showgrounds has showers, amenities etc & is next door to the Historical Museum. Powered sites are $20/night, unpowered sites are $10/night for 2 people. Sorry no open fires due to fire risk at Showgrounds. The address of Showgrounds is corner of High St & Club St, Stanthorpe. The Secretary will phone me back in early Feb for numbers, so can you let me know if you're interested? Cheers Cathie

Hi Guys
6 if us have said we want to go to this event but can any others let me know ASAP if you're coming to this weekend as I just got this email.
Thanks Cathie
Hello Cathie,
This email is to confirm your booking for 25-30 powered sites, at a cost of $22 for each night, on 7th, 8th March this year. Can you please confirm your final numbers as the powered sites are in high demand. On 8th March the Annual Stanthorpe Rodeo will be running from 2pm within the Showgrounds and entry is $20 per adult should you wish to attend.
Looking forward to seeing you
Regards, Bridget Ryan Secretary

Hi Sue
Here's the reply from the Secretary. Sounds like the Rodeo won't be a problem unless someone decides to enter in the bull riding or calf roping events!
Hello Cathie,
The rodeo along with their camping will be on the other side of the Showgrounds and will be over by midnight. If you can let me know number that would be great.
Regards, Bridget

Hi all
The main entrance 8 High Street will be open for your entry and payment will be taken by the caretaker on arrival.
Just a thought guys about where we've been allocated space at the Showground...I MAY have mentioned to Bridget that a group called the Wollumbin Heritage Touring Club would be coming, so if you see a sign for the WHTC, just set yourselves up there! Im sure Phil the President of WHTC won't mind!
See you all next week, there's 12 vans coming so should be a great weekend!
Cathie
