I see this caravan almost every time I'm on my way to work. The name label is impossible to read. It hasn't been used for a very long time & is likely to be sold soon.

Hi there,
I am new to the forum and WOW....I was so excited when I stumbled on all you incredible and enthusiastic vintage caravaners.
For some time I have wanted to embark on my own project and when this old girl fell upon my eyes it was love at first sight and the project begun.
I guess first I am trying to gain an understanding of age. I'm not sure the pull bar is original and I am yet to discover any indicators. Based on what the former owner tells me I'm thinking 1957.
Could anybody perhaps give me a better idea?

That is one cute looking vv......got any pic's of inside??? Plus you may need to find chassis# which will be on drawbar (somewhere)....that way these guru's can pinpoint something of a date in time for you! They are good....so be patient! Love it!

Hi there, I am new to the forum and WOW....I was so excited when I stumbled on all you incredible and enthusiastic vintage caravaners. Hi all, Fairly frequently folk pop onto the forum with details and/or a photo of a caravan they are trying to identify. As regulars on the forum will know, sometimes we can identify the van quite quickly, and sometimes we can't and then the post sinks into the obscurity of unanswered questions. A case in point is Allaboutbetty's post from 2013 above. The van she was referring to is this one: [/quote] She also provided the following additional info: "...Today I gutted the inside to find 2 pieces of ply with writing underneath. One had Millard Caravans written on it with what looks like the word ???ival Street cut off. The other piece of ply has Patons Wyong written on it.
"This old girl has been in the same family since the late 60's..."At the time Franklin1 responded: "I'd be interested in seeing some photos of the writing you discovered. The shape of your van is not a shape I would have associated with Millard, so it's intriguing how the Millard name appears on it.
"I did a search for the street names in Wyong, thinking the ----ival Street might have shown up, but no luck. Nothing showing up according to this website . I also searched for Paton Wyong but nothing there either."No-one has responded since, but I thought I'd give Allaboutbetty's post a BUMP. Maybe with the additional info we've accumulated since 2013 somebody may recognise the van. To my mind it has a touch of a Gypsy caravan about it, as shown in these photos of Chippydave's c. 1959 Gypsy Thirteen-Two posted on the DHL Gypsy thread by Franklin1: Any ideas anyone? Is Allaboutbetty's van a small Gypsy? Don Ricardo
